Dr. Chuck Pitts
A 1983 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia Dental School, Dr. Pitts is passionate about developing positive relationships with his patients. He believes that any person that makes an effort to seek out his care is making a statement that they want to be healthy!
As Dr. Pitts enters his 34th year in dentistry, he has continued his education and advanced postgraduate training from both the Dawson Institute and the Pankey Institute where he has served as a member of their faculty for 10 years. In 2010, the Pankey Institute’s director of education, Dr. Irwin Becker said “Chuck, I am extremely pleased with your growth as a teacher, especially in how you always try to help others.”
Dr. Pitts has received multiple regimens of training from the American Academy of Facial Aesthetics in Botox, Juvederm and Voluma applications for his patients.
Dr. Pitts also attends the Sclar Center in Miami, Florida. His advanced surgical training there includes Comprehensive All-on-4 Full Arch Immediate Function training as well as Soft Tissue Immersion training involving Periodontal and Peri-Implant Plastic surgery.
Dr. Pitts is a member of the American Dental Association and the Georgia Dental Association.
In his spare time he enjoys golfing with friends and fly fishing in western North Carolina. He and his wife Cheryl reside in LaGrange, Georgia.
Rebecca Shelnutt, Registered Dental Hygienist
Rebecca earned a certificate in Massage Therapy at the Georgia Medical Institute in Marietta, Georgia and received her Associate of Applied Science degree from West Georgia Technical College, Douglasville Georgia. Rebecca’s responsibilities are centered on patient education, and she takes great pride in helping improve the oral health of each patient who comes through our door. She gives our patients the information and tools they need to maintain or improve their oral health, while keeping them comfortable and relaxed. She also provides massage therapy using a variety of modalities including Swedish/relaxation, deep tissue, and neuromuscular.
Rebecca truly loves her work and says, “The time I am able to spend with my patients, not only educating them and cleaning their teeth, but also creating a positive experience and building trusting relationships that last, is one of the best things about my work. I love to learn and I enjoy the opportunities we are given to continue our education and expand our knowledge, which in turn allows us to better care for our patients. I also love the TEAM atmosphere at Kid Zone and Refresh Me! Everyone works together to achieve optimal patient care and to ensure that every patient has a great dental experience. ”
In her free time, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
