An Ounce of Prevention is Worth…Everything!

We’re learning more every day how important dental health is to your overall health. It’s astonishing how many serious health conditions are linked to poor dental hygiene and bacterial dental plaque, such as:

  • Diabetes
  • Heart attacks
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Dementia
  • Premature and low-birth-weight babies

Now prevention of decay and dental diseases can also mean prevention of serious conditions that can impact your long-term health and longevity.

Dental Exams

First Things First! Dental Exams at Refresh Me!

Our entire dental team at Refresh Me! is on a mission to provide the most thorough dental exams and preventive care anywhere! And many of our patients tell us just that.

A dental exam at our dental office in LaGrange involves more than just cleaning and X-rays. We start with a health history in one of our consultation rooms. We then show you into one of our state-of-the-art treatment rooms with ergonomically designed comfortable dental chairs, music, TV and other amenities for your comfort while you’re here.

Our dental exams screen for:

  • Oral cancer
  • Periodontal (gum) disease
  • Tooth decay
  • Condition of existing restorations
  • Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems

Using digital imaging and tiny intraoral cameras, we show you everything we do and see and explain the processes. The more you know, the better you can make decisions regarding your dental care and treatments we may recommend.

Hygiene/Dental Cleanings

The best thing about regular checkups is the super-clean feeling after your teeth have been professionally cleaned. In addition to cleaning and polishing your teeth, we use the Cavitron ultrasonic scaler that removes more plaque than we ever could with hand scalers.

Periodontal Therapy

When we find evidence of gum disease, we can begin to treat it right away, using the Cavitron to remove bacterial plaque even below the gum line. We can also treat early stages of gum disease with Arestin, a topical antibiotic. If you have advanced gum disease, we’ll discuss additional treatment options with you.
